Transition to the H2 economy has already begun. Several major car manufacturers already offer H2-powered fuel cell cars. Current manufacturing methods for hydrogen fuel leave a large footprint of greenhouse gases. One molecule of carbon dioxide is generated for every hydrogen molecule during the natural gas reformation method of hydrogen production. Another major problem is scarcity of fuel-cell ready hydrogen that greatly increases transportation costs.
